RWE has signed two long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with tech giant Meta. These agreements will see RWE supply clean electricity generated from two solar farms currently under construction in the United States. Construction has already commenced at RWE’s 274 MWac County Run Solar project in Illinois and the 100 MWac Lafitte Solar project in Louisiana. Both sites are expected to be fully operational by late 2025. Notably, the Lafitte Solar project marks RWE’s first renewable energy endeavor in Louisiana, signaling the company’s expanding footprint in the US renewables market.
