The winning projects will be located in Denmark, , Poland, and Spain and include the manufacturing of state-of-the-art propulsion systems for wind turbines, XXL towers for offshore wind farms, new rotor designs, and small- and medium-sized wind energy systems.

WindEurope’s CEO, Giles Dickson, stated, "The results of the latest EU Innovation Fund call are excellent. The European Commission has finally started to adapt its innovation strategy. It is shifting from a technology-neutral R&D to a scaling-up of manufacturing with clean technologies. This is the way to ensure technological leadership, drive climate protection, and strengthen the EU’s industrial competitiveness."

According to WindEurope, all selected projects will be up and running before 2030, and it is expected that during their first ten years of operation, they will reduce emissions by around 476 million tons of CO2 equivalent.

The projects are scheduled to sign their grant agreements with the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) in the first quarter of 2025.
