The American Clean Power Association (A), on behalf of the U.S. energy storage industry, announced a $100 billion investment commitment for the construction and procurement of American-made grid batteries. 414o6u

This investment is expected to drive the creation of 350,000 jobs in the battery energy storage industry.

The industry’s investment will the expansion of domestic manufacturing, with the goal of ensuring that U.S.-made batteries meet 100% of national demand for energy storage projects.

Jason Grumet, CEO of A, stated, “The energy storage industry delivers essential power when it’s needed most, while also driving domestic manufacturing and creating jobs across the country. Today’s historic commitment will invest billions of dollars in American communities and position the United States as a global leader in battery technology manufacturing—critical to national and grid security.”

This investment in grid batteries for the U.S. power system includes funding for the construction of new battery manufacturing facilities and the procurement of U.S.-made batteries for domestic energy storage projects.

The investment represents a clear pathway to meeting 100% of U.S. energy storage project needs with domestically produced batteries by 2030. A business-friendly environment—ed by stable trade and tax policies and streamlined permitting—is essential for the industry to fulfill this commitment.
