
Orsted increases U.S. presence with $55 million investment in Mission Clean Energy projects 664cd
Mission Clean Energy (Mission) has received a $55 million investment from Ørsted for the development of large-scale solar energy and battery storage projects in the United States. 6wt1h
According to the company, the investment is based on an existing collaboration between Ørsted and Mission to develop four independent battery energy storage projects in the Midwest. This investment provides additional growth capital to expand Mission's project portfolio, which includes solar and storage projects nationwide. Ørsted will continue to evaluate the acquisition of selected projects, which will enable it to expand its project portfolio.
Max Bakker, CEO of Mission Clean Energy, stated, “Ørsted's investment is a strong validation of our disciplined approach to developing high-quality projects and partnering with the best operators to bring them to market.”
For his part, Mike Morrow, Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions and Business Development at Ørsted, said, “This investment aligns with our strategy to drive multitechnology clean energy solutions and expand our presence in the U.S. solar and storage market.”
With Ørsted's investment and the continued from Wafra, Mission is in a strong position to continue creating and driving projects that meet the growing energy demand from utilities, data centers, manufacturing plants, and other high-consumption sectors.
