Denmark to get one of its largest BESS installations 2a82u
Eurowind Energy, together with BOS Power, will develop and install one of Denmark's largest battery energy storage systems (BESS) as part of an advanced hybrid power plant. 55u14
Eurowind Energy will develop and install the BESS at its GreenLab Skive 84.8 MW hybrid solar and wind plant.
The GreenLab Skive solar and wind hybrid park generates 186,000,000 kWh annually. The integration of the 45 MWh battery energy storage system will further enhance grid flexibility and stability, ensuring the seamless integration of renewable energy.
BOS Power will act as the system integrator, supplying a 45 MWh, 2-hour battery system, including energy storage, inverters (PCS), energy management system, transformers, switchgear, and engineering services for the plant. Eurowind Energy will provide construction services for the plant.
The installation, part of GreenLab Skive, is expected to be operational by the end of 2025 and will provide ancillary and frequency control services to the Danish transmission system operator, Energinet.
Morten Gaarde, Global Director of EPC at Eurowind Energy A/S, stated, “BOS Power’s experience in large-scale energy storage and renewable energy integration made them the ideal partner for this ambitious project. BESS technology is a vital part of our energy parks as it ensures stable and efficient power supply and grid stability through ancillary services, benefiting both the local energy supply and the overall ecological transition.”
Carsten Højerup, Director of PowerGen at BOS Power, said, “This is one of many projects with Eurowind Energy, a truly innovative and ambitious partner. Eurowind Energy is making a strong impact on the electricity market as a key player in hybrid energy solutions. Their commitment to carbon neutrality and grid stability extends beyond Denmark, positioning them as leaders in Europe’s green transition.”
